Wooden Door Restoration
Wooden Door Restoration Bringing New Life to Your Doors
This service is especially popular with people renovating character homes — like villas and bungalows — who want to bring their doors back to their original, natural state.
Most of the doors we restore are made from beautiful native timbers like rimu and kauri. These timbers were built to last, and it’s always a pleasure to reveal their natural beauty after years of being hidden under paint.
Many doors have been painted over multiple times, sometimes with 5 or more layers. Others have had hardware installed in different places, leaving unwanted holes, or have broken or missing panels.
At No.8 Workshop, we carefully strip back the layers, repair damage, and restore each door with respect for its age and character — so it can shine once again.
Whether you’re removing lead paint, fixing old hardware holes, replacing panels or just wanting to see the timber grain again — we’re here to help.
Why Choose Us?
Because your doors and windows deserve better than foam tape and a YouTube tutorial.
At No.8 Workshop, we mix old-school skills with modern tools to get things done right — with care, quality, and a good eye for detail. We don’t cut corners (unless we’re literally cutting corners to fit a sash).
